NEWS FROM THE MAYOR
Dear Friends,
A few months ago, the Governor, State Superintendent of Public Instruction and I formed the MPS Innovation and Improvement Advisory Council. This council was formed to seek improvements to academic outcomes, the district's fiscal outlook, and the accountability and transparency that will lead the district toward future success. To date, we have held four public meetings as we work to increase the performance of our public schools.
I am now proud to announce the creation of the MPS Innovation and Improvement Advisory Council website. This website will provide community members with updated information of the progrss that the council makes. You may access the website at: http://www.city.milwaukee.gov/educatedcity.
Additionally, we are looking for you to provide feedback to the members of the council. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions for ways to improve the operations of MPS and improve the academic performance of our children. Please email us your ideas at educatedcity@milwaukee.gov.
The council is continuing to improve our schools, drive innovation , and promote fiscal responsibility. However, this is an effort that all members of our community need to take an active part in. I appreciate your input and interest in the education of our city's children. By being a committed participant in improving the city's education system, you are helping provide a foundation for the city's future.
Sincerely,
Mayor, City of Milwaukee
