Two Burglars Quickly Caught in District 5

Mar. 11 - Officers from District 5 arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for an overnight burglary in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Officers responded to the report of a suspicion person and auto in the 2400 block of N. Humboldt Blvd. Shortly after 1 a.m. on March 11. The officers spoke with a witness who provided them with descriptions of the suspects and the auto. The area was checked with out locating the suspects.

Shortly after 3 a.m. the same officers were investigating the report of a fight in the 3200 block of N. 16th Street when they saw a car matching the description of the suspicious auto on Humboldt. They stopped this auto and their investigation revealed that the 2 adult male occupants had committed a burglary to a home in the 2400 block of N. Humboldt earlier that night. The two suspects were arrested and property belonging to the victim was recovered in the suspect’s auto. It is not known at this time if these suspects are responsible for any other crimes.
