Contracting and Financial Opportunities for Emerging Businesses

The Business Operations Division, Procurement Services Section encourages participation in the bidding process, from all certified emerging businesses.  The City of Milwaukee has a separate division to serve the concerns of emerging business enterprise.  For more information on the definition of emerging businesses and this program, call the Emerging Business Enterprise Program (414) 286-5553.  This division can assist businesses with the certification process, financial aides, participation in City contracts, loan eligibility if awarded a contract or training and educational programs for the emerging business.

Business Operations Division Goals

To utilize emerging business enterprises for 18% of the total dollars, through prime contracts or subcontracts, annually expended on:

• Construction
• The Purchase of Services
• The Purchase of Professional Services
• The Purchase of Supplies

The City is seeking greater EBE participation in the following areas:

Police Equipment and Supplies
