Crews Moved Gipfel Brewery Building
Crews Moved Gipfel Brewery Building
Crews slowly and cautiously moved the 154-year-old Gipfel Brewery building along the 300 block of W. Juneau Ave. on March 18. Owned by the Bradley Center for years, the historic building – the oldest known brewery structure in Milwaukee – was moved one block east where it will be restored to become part of a major new development project. Ald. Bauman, a member of the Historic Preservation Commission and an advocate of moving residential and commercial buildings instead of demolition, noted that this was the fifth building move in the 4th District since April 2004.
