The Dive Rescue Team is the Milwaukee Fire Department's oldest established specialty team. It has provided the county with assistance in water-related emergencies for over a quarter of a century. Besides the recovery of drowning victims, the team carries out swift water, dam and ice rescue operations. These operations are carried out in cooperation with agencies such as the Milwaukee Police and Sheriff's Departments, the Milwaukee Harbor Master, Port Director, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Buildings and Fleet Division of the Department of Public Works.
All members of this team are nationally certified and prepared for emergencies, anytime, any season.
