MPD’s Newest & Furriest Officer

Milwaukee Police Department
Office of Media and Communications

The Milwaukee Police Department adopted Dozer, a 1-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever, from the Wisconsin Humane Society. He was chosen for training after the Humane Society Behavior Manager recommended him to MPD Vice Control Detective Glen Bishop for MPD's Drug Detection Canine Program. Bishop has asked area Humane Society personnel to be on the lookout for dogs that fit the profile for MPD's purposes.

Dozer is curious, confident, highly motivated and eager to learn - the idea profile for drug detection dogs. Dozer will live with his handler, Detective Steve Dettmann.
