Emergency Medical Services

The EMS System has been established in the City of Milwaukee to safeguard against loss of life, disability, and unnecessary pain and suffering. EMS is responsible for providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) for approximately 50,000 responses per year.

The Milwaukee Fire Department's ALS capability consists of 12 paramedic modular units and its BLS capability consists of 37 engine companies, 16 ladder companies.
