EMS serves Milwaukee County citizens through Milwaukee County Division of Health Programs in conjunction with Milwaukee County EMS Council, Milwaukee County municipalities and with medical direction from the Medical College of Wisconsin. The system consists of: fourteen Paramedic Units and numerous Paramedic First Response Units that serve the Milwaukee County area;

• a Communications Base that provides the communication link between paramedic units, receiving hospitals and medical staff;
• an Education Center that provides paramedic training and continuing education;
• a Quality Assurance Department that monitors pre-hospital care and department operations;
• a Medical Records Department that maintains a patient data base; and
• a Community Outreach Program, including the AHA approved Community Training Center.

  The Mission of Milwaukee County Emergency Medical Services is to provide performance excellence in pre-hospital care through education, communication, operations, health information and quality management and scientific discovery.
