Mar. 2 - A 17-year-old convicted felon was arrested on March 1 for various weapons related charges after District 5 officers found him with a shotgun. Officers Michael WASHINGTON and Freedom MUSTAFA responded to the report of a subject with a gun in a home in the 2900 block of N. 12th Street. The officers found a 19-year-old man in the house who claimed he lived there alone. There were two other men, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, sitting on a couch and one of them matched the description of the subject with the gun. The officers found a 12-gauge shotgun hidden under a bed. The 18-year-old was arrested on warrants. The officers determined that the 19-year-old who matched the description of the man with the gun lied about his name and age. He was eventually identified as a 17-year-old who is a convicted felon. He was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, resisting or obstructing arrest, possession of a dangerous weapon by a minor and an outstanding warrant.
