Mary K. Hoerig

Deputy Inspector

Professional Performance Division

I have been a part of the Milwaukee community for 25 years. I have been with the Milwaukee Police Department since July of 1991.  I have served in many areas of the Police Department including a patrol officer; detective in the Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Sensitive Crimes Division/Sexual Assault Unit; Lieutenant of Detectives in the Internal Affairs Division/Criminal Investigation Unit; Captain of Professional Performance Division and currently I am the Deputy Inspector for the Professional Performance Division/Office of the Chief.

I have had the opportunity to participate as a member of the Milwaukee Police Chief's Transition Team, Strategic Planning Team, Police Aide Program Review Committee, and the Rules and Procedures Revision Team.  My staff and I developed and implemented the Police Endowment Fund, Early Intervention Program and the Integrity Unit.

I have three children. I am a true believer in higher education and received my BA in Criminal Justice Management from Concordia University, graduate of the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety (Police Staff and Command) and currently attending Marquette University's Masters of Administration of Justice.  I sit on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Aids Fund and the Wisconsin Association of Women Police.

As a Command Officer in police service, I am personally committed to the highest level of professional policing.
