District Seven

 

 

Captain Mitchell was appointed to the Department as a Police Aide in 1985 and was promoted to Police Officer in 1988.  As an Officer, Captain Mitchell worked at District Five Late, Prisoner Processing Section, and the Tactical Enforcement Unit.  He was promoted to Detective in 1995 and worked in the Vice Control Division and Drug Enforcement Administration Federal Drug Task Force.  In 2002, Captain Mitchell was promoted to Lieutenant of Detectives and was assigned to the Intelligence Division, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), and the Criminal Investigation Bureau (Property Division and Robbery Unit).  He was promoted to Captain in 2007 and commanded the Neighborhood Safety Initiative (NSI), which operated in high crime areas of the City of Milwaukee throughout the summer.  In September of 2007, Captain Mitchell was assigned to District Seven. 

 

Captain Mitchell holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Captain Mitchell is also a graduate of the 2006 Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.  He is also a certified law enforcement instructor and has taught numerous topics of instruction for members of the Department as well as outside agencies. 

Captain Mitchell is a life long resident of the City of Milwaukee.
