| Joe Sanfelippo was elected to serve the 17th District in 2008. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Parks, Energy and Environment Committee and serves on the Judiciary, Safety and General Services Committee and Transportation, Public Works and Transit Committee. Joe and his family have lived in West Allis for more than 14 years. He has been married for more than 20 years to Becky, a Catholic School Teacher in Milwaukee. They have three children, Andrea, Joe and Gina. Joe grew up working for his father in the family sod farm business. During that time his father instilled a strong ethic of hard work and customer service by example. Joe's father, at age 74, still works 6-7 days per week and has been in business for more than 50 years. At age 16, Joe began his first business selling fruits and vegetables, sod, topsoil and nursery stock on 35th & Forest Home Ave. After graduating from Thomas More High School, Joe attended Marquette University. He left college early to begin a landscaping business. The business employed over 60 people and performed landscape construction and maintenance on residential, commercial and municipal projects. Joe sold the landscaping business in 2005 after 19 years. Joe and Becky are active members at Mary Queen of Heaven Parish in West Allis and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Greenfield. At MQH Joe was on the Parish Council and the building and grounds committee. He ran an annual News Year Eve Casino Night and Dance and has worked on the Parish Festival. At St. John's, Joe works at bingo, the concession stand at sporting events and the Parish Festival. Joe was also a member of the Archdiocese task force responsible for the West Allis/West Milwaukee Catholic Schools merger and provides volunteer work and financial support for St. Thomas More High School.
