Shared Vision of Milwaukee's Public Health Partners:
"Milwaukee is a model community with healthy, safe, hopeful, and empowered residents."
The Steering Committee is made up of representatives from a wide variety of community-based organizations, health promotion agencies, government agencies, health care systems, and academic institutions. Please see below for a list of participating organizations. The Steering Committee completes the visioning process, as well as the four MAPP assessments. The outcomes of the Steering Committee's efforts will be used to inform the goal setting and identifying strategic issues that will lead to an action plan to improve the health and well-being of Milwaukee's residents.
New: The next Steering Committee meeting is Wednesday, June 4th, 8:30am, at the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.

Vision
The second phase of MAPP - Visioning - guides the community through a collaborative and creative process that leads to a shared community vision and common values. Vision and values statements provide focus, purpose, and direction to the MAPP process so that participants collectively achieve a shared vision of the future. A shared community vision provides an overarching goal for the community - a statement of what the ideal future looks like. Values are the fundamental principles and beliefs that guide a community-driven planning process. Because visioning is done at the beginning of the MAPP process, it offers a useful mechanism for convening the community and building enthusiasm for the process, setting the stage for planning, and providing a common framework throughout subsequent phases.
