DETAILS: The Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) is hosting “Milwaukee Fire Department Day” at Miller Park, May 29, from 9 a.m. to noon. Milwaukee Fire Department Day is an event in honor of National EMS Week, which took place May 19-23, 2008. This year’s theme for National EMS Week was “Your Life is Our Mission.” At the event, there will be a special teams and apparatus display including the Survive Alive mobile unit. The Special Teams onsite tomorrow include the Hazardous Materials Team, Dive Rescue Team, and the Heavy Urban Rescue Team. The teams will display their apparatus and discuss their various functions from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the clock tower area at Miller Park. At 11:45 a.m., the Milwaukee Brewers will honor two paramedics who were recently praised for their heroic actions. The two, William Echevarria and Jason Oberg, were returning from a run on Milwaukee’s East Side when they stopped and saved a woman from being beaten and robbed. They will throw out the first pitch. Additionally, Paramedic Lieutenant Michael Wright will play the national anthem via saxophone. The Milwaukee Brewers is playing the Atlanta Braves tomorrow at 12:05 p.m.
