Tavern & Bar Capacity Information

The following document will assist owners of taverns and bars in learning how the Department of Neighborhood Services determines building capacity. Basically one of three limits will ultimately determine the number of people that can occupy a building.  Those main items are bathroom facilities, square footage of floor space and exit width/exit location.  Other factors may limit capacity such as type of construction and the type of occupancy, i.e. day care, spray painting, hazardous occupancies, etc.
