The Milwaukee County Jail Cashier's Office is located on the ground floor of the Criminal Justice Facility at 949 N. 9th Street. The Cashier accepts money for inmate accounts and bail payments.
Bail
Bail may be posted for inmates 24 hours a day.
The following are acceptable forms of payment: Cash, Cashier's Check, Money Order and all major credit cards.
Persons posting bail with Mastercard/Visa must own the card and have a valid driver's license. This type of payment is processed as a cash advance and therefore incurs an additional fee.

Bail refunds are handled by the Milwaukee County Clerk of Circuit Court (278-4538). They are paid 10 days after the case is closed only if the defendant made all court appearances and committed no additional crimes. Persons inquiring about bail refunds should be prepared to provide the case number and the defendant's name.
Inmate Accounts
Cash may only be deposited, in-person, into an inmate's account.
Money orders, Income Tax Refund checks, Social Security checks, and SSD checks may be mailed to an inmate, for deposit into an inmate account.
